NClear presents to the Manatee County (FL) Commission

What would happen if some or all of 600,000,000 gallons of contaminated process water from a closed chemical production plant were to end up in the fragile marine ecosystem in and around Tampa Bay?  NClear Inc. is doing its part to make sure we never find out! Last month CEO Mike Mies and CSO Steve Odom presented NClear’s innovative solution to preventing this potential environmental catastrophe to the Manatee County (FL) Commission at a meeting of the Manatee Port Authority.  The Manatee County Commission is spearheading efforts to secure public and private funding to treat the contaminated water contained in two large ponds at the former Piney Point Phosphate plant in Palmetto, FL, across the street from Port Manatee and near to Bishop Harbor and the Terra Ceia Aquatic Preserve.  These ponds contain millions of gallons of water containing dangerously high levels of phosphorus and nitrogen, the two principal nutrients fueling harmful algae blooms (HAB) and toxic red tide formations in the Gulf of Mexico.  NClear’s solution, which was successfully demonstrated at Piney Point in 2017, is the most environmentally responsible approach to treating the water, as it allows for the recovery of the phosphorus and the conversion of harmful ammonia to harmless nitrogen gas. Click here Watch Mike’s presentation here.
