Mike Mies

Mr. Mies is the Chief Executive Officer of NClear Inc. Mike is a proven leader with extensive US and international experience, with a unique ability to assemble, motivate and manage a team of committed professionals to achieve strategic and operational objectives. Mike has functional expertise in general management, finance, marketing, strategy development, M&A, start-ups and business integration. Prior to NClear, Mike was the President of Mies Management Associates LLC, a management consulting practice he founded to provide management and advisory services to private companies experiencing managerial, strategic, operational or growth-related challenges. Mike’s prior experience includes: Founder and CEO of a wireless broadband service provider; CFO of public telecom companies in the US and in Germany; and Director of European Operations for a Fortune 500 company, with P&L responsibility for a $165 million pan-European distribution business. Mike earned his BA-Economics (magna cum laude) from the University of Michigan, and MBA (magna cum laude) from Wayne State University. Mike also serves on the Board of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Georgia, a Catholic charity organization providing person-to-person assistance to those in need.

Steve Odom

Founder, Chief Strategy Officer

Mr. Odom is the Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of NClear Inc. Steve is also the primary inventor of NClear nanocrystal technology, and continues to lead the company’s strategy and vision, including exploration of strategic alternatives, examining potential acquisitions, strategic alliances, product/project development, customer relations and alternative distribution strategies. Steve provided the initial research and strategy for the development of patented NClear and has obtained many patents and copyrights for several products throughout his career. Steve has more than 40 years of proven experience in defining the strategy and leading the growth of highly successful private & publicly traded technology companies. He previously served as Chairman and CEO of Verso Technologies, Inc., a supplier of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) carrier telecommunications equipment, and CEO of World Access, Inc. where he grew annual revenues from $15 million to more than $800 million, increasing shareholder value in excess of a billion dollars. Steve is the recipient of many honors and awards, such as Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year and Success Magazine’s Top 100 Entrepreneurs in the US, and is an Honorary Ambassador for the State of Georgia.

Kent D. Henry, PhD

Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Henry is the President of Electrichlor, LLC. Electrichlor designs, manufactures, and installs industrial hypochlorite generators. In addition to Electrichlor, Dr. Henry is also the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of NClear. Dr. Henry earned his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Cornell University. During his experience at Cornell, he worked with theoretical and applied techniques associated with vacuum and atmospheric ionization for biological mass spectrometry. Dr. Henry has over thirty years of experience in technical contribution and project management related to the design and development of scientific instrumentation. He has performed these capacities for both large companies, such as Hewlett‐Packard/Agilent Technologies, and for mid‐size and small companies, such as Finnigan and In‐Situ. To date, Dr. Henry has been awarded over $6M in research grants; over $3M in SBIRs and has been issued 22 patents.

Curtis D. Pollman,
PhD BCES

Chief Science Officer
Dr. Pollman is a renowned environmental scientist and limnologist. Curt has dedicated his career to studying the effects of environmental and chemical factors on lakes and other water bodies and their related ecosystems. He has authored and co-authored more than 90 reports and publications, including more than 30 papers in the open (peer-reviewed) literature, and has presented more than 60 technical papers to audiences around the world. Curt is particularly known for his work on nutrient pollution and eutrophication. In addition to his role at NClear, Curt is an Adjunct Research Professor in the Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Florida, and CEO of Aqua Lux Lucis, Inc. His prior experience includes CEO and Chief Scientist of Frontier Geosciences, Inc., Principal Scientist at Tetra Tech, Inc., and VP and Principal Scientist at KBN Engineering and Applied Sciences Inc. Curt earned his BA in Biological Sciences (with honors) from the University of Delaware, and his MS and PhD in Environmental Engineering Sciences from the University of Florida. He is also certified by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists as a Board Certified Environmental Scientist in Environmental Chemistry.

Claire Power

Senior Chemist
 
Ms. Power manages NClear’s corporate laboratory and is also responsible for integrating new R&D objectives for the company’s proprietary TPX™ technology. Claire has extensive experience in the water and wastewater industries, having spent the past decade developing and optimizing TPX™ within various applications.  She began her career working for an environmental laboratory conducting research on earlier versions of TPX™. She has assisted and authored research papers for the University of West Georgia on such topics as Nanocrystals for Medicinal Uses and Nanocrystal Structures. Claire graduated with a BS in Chemistry (with honors) from the University of West Georgia with a minor in Criminal Justice and Biology. She is a current member of the American Chemical Society.

Matthew Velker

Vice President,
Operations
Mr. Velker is responsible for NClear’s manufacturing, logistics, and pilot operations. Matthew has extensive experience in the water and wastewater industries, having spent the past 16+ years working for various manufacturing companies and service providers. He has served in numerous capacities, including field services, employee training, product R&D, systems commissioning, facility construction, as well as other leadership roles. Prior to joining NClear, Matthew held positions with Cascade Water Services, AdEdge Technologies, Vclear Environmental. Matthew studied at Piedmont College and The University of Southern Mississippi.

Shawn Luton

Vice President, Sales
and Marketing
Mr. Luton is responsible for new market development and the coordination of all sales and marketing activities. Shawn has extensive experience in the wastewater and stormwater industries, having spent the past 20+ years working for various manufacturing companies in numerous capacities, including field and application engineering, procurement management, product management, and both regional and corporate sales management leadership positions. He began his career working in the special stormwater hydraulics section for the Georgia Department of Transportation, followed by several years in the private consulting civil/site engineering field. Shawn graduated at the top of his class with a BS in Civil Engineering Technology from Georgia Southern University, and in 2001 completed an Executive Business Management Program at Vanderbilt University. Shawn has served on several industry board associations and is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
